In recognition of his commitment to the series over the years, Jeremy Welch was awarded the 'Spirit of the Series' and presented with a stunning handmade trophy.
Jeremy has campaigned in every GTSCC race bar one since the series inception in 2007. He has secured the overall series victory three times: in 2007, in 2014 with co-driver Mark Pangborn and in 2016 with co-driver Martyn Corfield.
The award for 3rd place in the GT3 Class was awarded to Martyn Corfield and co-driver Jeremy Welch. With Martyn unable to attend, Jeremy and wife Melanie collected the award on his behalf.
The pairing, who were overall winners in 2016, driving Jeremy's Healey KVS 484, switched to campaigning Corfield's ex-works John Gott Healey 3000, SMO 746 for 2017.
With the car taking to the track for the first time in over 40 years, it was very much a learning and development season for both owner and car. However the 3rd place result is a real testimony to the hard work put into the car to prepare it for racing. 2018 will see Corfield and Welch return to the track in SMO once again.
We must also say well done to Dave Smithies/ Chris Clarkson and Mark Pangborn/ Harvey Woods for securing 1st and 2nd respectively in the GT3 class.
