The headline race at the Spa Six Hour was the 360-minute historic endurance race for touring and sports cars built before 1965, as every year, with a very competitive grid of more than 100 classics participating.
Team Nils-Fredrik Nyblaeus/Gunnar Dackevall/Robert Peterson in Nils' Austin-Healey 3000 finished the race in a high 44th place. Jeremy Welch in his Healey KVS484 with Tony Worthington and Mark Midgley as co-drivers qualified 28th to finish the race 52nd overall, completing 76 laps.
The four Austin Healey's of Tarek Mahmoud, Nils-Frederik Nyblaeus, Martyn Corfield and Robert Mills entered the single sixty-one minute Woodcote Trophy race.
Team Corfield/Welch in the Healey Endurance car qualified 25th to finish the race in 31st place overall and 3rd in the class. Nils-Fredrik-Nyblaeus in his Healey 100M extensively improved his position to finish in 36th place after qualifying 56th due to
a misfire. Tarek Mahmoud in his Healey 100, after an enjoyable battle kept his qualifying position and crossed the finish line in 37th place completing 18 laps. Team Robert Mills/Ian Montgomery in the Healey 100 came 6th in the class and 45th overall. Karsten Le Blanc in bad weather conditions during the qualifying session rendered his Austin Healey 100S unable to take part in the race.
No less than 46 classic GTs competed in the 90-minute, Masters Gentlemen Drivers race on Sunday afternoon. Galal Mahmoud entered his Jaguar E-type with co-driver Nigel Greensall. A great qualifying session placed them 10th on the grid. Nigel started in the wet conditions and quickly lead the race, they finished in a very credible 9th place.
Mark Pangborn/Jeremy Welch in the Healey 3000 had an extremely enjoyable battle against other contenders resulting in a great dynamic race and a high 11th place. Mark and Jeremy improved their position after qualifying by 6 places!
The Monster Touring Car grid comprised of 70s Celebration and Pre-66 runners.
Huge congratulations are due to Paul Pochciol and Jeremy Welch for a fantastic result - 4th position overall and 1st in the class racing in Pauls eye catching Jaguar XJ12.
