These new wheels are designed with the wheel itself being of a high-grade magmesium alloy that is 40% lighter at 6.8Kg than a standard 72 spoke wire wheel, which helps the unsprung weight, thus improving the grip offered by the contact patch of the tyre. The two piece centre in stainless steel is available for splined fitting and a rim only is available for bolt-on fitting so that all forms of cars whether competition or fast road specification can be catered for. They are available as "inset" with sufficient inset to retain the correct track width whilst fitting under standard bodywork or "offset" to suit flared wings. Other features include the safety beads on the rim to resist tyres coming off when run at low pressures. The ability to run tubeless reduces friction and helps the tyres run cooler and improves tyre wear. A polished rim is also available. Polished rims to order at extra cost. NEW Peg Drive lightweight wheels for Jaguar E-Type's. A completely new wheel, designed in CAD to original specifications, produced in lightweight Magnesium using specially commissioned pattern equipment. The Wheels are offered in 2 distinct finishes: Traditional 'Cast face' wheels with a grained finish, as per those fitted to original works cars. Smooth 'Machined face' wheels with a smooth finish, in our eyes an aesthetic upgrade to the cast face, and these wheels are 10% lighter than our cast face variety, making them ideal for racing. We have developed these wheels following the tremendous success of our Healey version of the Wellite wheel. These were received so well in the market place we sought to put the improved design philosophy into a new Jaguar variant. We believe these are the finest wheels on the market today, they come pre balanced to ensure top performance for racing. The choice of machined finish is both an aesthetic improvement as well as a weight saving option. These are the lightest peg drive wheels on the market today. Over many years working with Healeys we have rebuilt literally hundreds of steering boxes and there was always some element of craftsmanship and engineering know-how required to make a good job.With a complete re-think, we felt they could be made to perform more smoothly and reliably. The root of most Steering Box issues is the casing which is often a less than perfect piece of engineering. We therefore set about acquiring access to original works drawings for reference and started from scratch. New CAD drawings and a brand new casing, based on a blueprinted original specification meant that our constant clearance worm (designed by us some years ago) could now be installed in a completely new box, along with many other subtle refinements.
Providing professional industry-leading toleranced drawings for every single component, has allowed us to produce every item under tight quality control, and therefore has a reassurance that the parts fit together correctly first-time and every-time. With modern computer controlled 5 axis machining we can produce a wholly superior product that outperforms all others on the market. Our constant clearance worm is exactly as you may expect, it has no tight spot, nor does it have increased clearance on lock. Like a steering rack it has the same feel and clearance on full lock as it does in the straight ahead. It is as close to the feel and response of a modern steering rack as this peg and worm design can be. The new columns are available as left or right-hand drive, adjustable or non-adjustable steering wheel, high or standard ratio, safety column or standard column.
Our steering boxes are supplied fully adjusted and undergo bench testing as part of our quality control. All you need to do is fill with the correct oil.
