Everything was set for a great weekend's racing, well everything except the weather. Southern Britain was in the brink of a cold spell with sub-zero temperatures, ice and even snow. Qualifying on the Saturday proved especially challenging due to the conditions, with a number of cars drifting around the bends.
Both Healey's did well in the conditions as they were able to get more of their power down than some of the faster and more powerful cars.
For race day the weather had improved somewhat, in that the snow had gone, but the temperature was still hovering around freezing. Concerns over ice meant that the circuit needed to be treated using a solution similar to that used for de-icing aircraft.
Karsten and Christiaen in DD 300 enjoyed a good race in the cold and damp difficult conditions. They fought hard, with several other fast cars, trading places in a great example of quality GT racing but would ultimately not improve on 14th position overall.
In 319 AOV Jeremy took the first stint of driving in his Healey and made a superb start to climb up to 4th by the 3rd corner. The track remained slippery though and on lap two he was nearly taken out by a spinning Jaguar E-Type.
